[Overview]

The Victoria Mile is a G1 race for fillies and mares that was established in 2006. In autumn, there is the Queen Elizabeth II Cup, a G1 race limited to fillies and mares, but since it is a 2200-meter middle-distance race, horses that are strong at a mile also participate in this race to determine the number one filly of spring.

In three weeks, there is also the spring mile championship, the Yasuda Kinen, which includes colts. However, only two horses, Vodka (2009) and Songline (2023), have won both in the same year. Even Almond Eye, who won nine GIs, and Gran Alegria, one of the top mile mares in recent years, have not accomplished this.

Following last week's NHK Mile Cup, it is a consecutive two-week showdown over 1 mile at Tokyo Racecourse. Who will be this spring's queen?
